A Chief Magistrate, Justice Ejike King George, has resigned voluntarily from the employ of the Rivers State Judiciary.
Chief Magistrate Ejike George, announced his resignation via a letter sent to the Chief Judge of Rivers State, through; the Secretary, Rivers State Judicial Service Commission.
Chief Magistrate Ejike George, attributed his decision to what he described as the appointment of a quasi-military administration to run the affairs of the state.

Chief Magistrate, King-George further said, having put in a whooping sixteen out of his twenty two years of legal practice into the Judiciary as Magistrate under successive democratic administrations, he find it difficult to work with the current setting, as doing so would amount to a tacit and naive acquiescence.
