During its glory days, OGS, as it was fondly called, was one of the most sought-after Secondary schools in the State.

Following years of neglect, the school that helped nurture several prominent and successful Rivers State sons, fell into a state of disrepair.

But upon his assumption of office as Governor, Siminalayi Fubara decided to rehabilitate the school and bring it back to standard.

Apart from being the key to development, Governor Fubara also believes that education can help reduce crime in the country.

The Rivers State Governor also used the occasion to appeal to other parties in the political crisis rocking the State to embrace peace in the State’s interest.

He remarked that he would continue to explore all avenues of peace, adding that there is no way good governance or meaningful development can take place if Rivers State continued to be in crisis.
