A former Minister of Transport, Abiye Sekibo, has urged President Bola Tinubu to ignore the lies being told about the Rivers Governor, Siminalayi Fubara and show support for the governor who demonstrated a lot of support towards the success of the President’s administration.

Speaking at the commissioning of another Fire syervice station in Port Harcourt, Dr. Sekibo also called on the people of the State to rally behind Governor Fubara, who has, in his actions, proven to be a humble man who respects the rule of law.

Three days after the headquarters of the Rivers State Fire Service was commissioned, Governor Siminalayi Fubara is in the old Port Harcourt township of Borikiri to inaugurate another Fire Service station.

Known to be densely populated, Borikiri has for ages been without a functional Fire Service station, a situation that has forced the residents to resort to self-help each time there was a fire outbreak.

Today, the Fubara administration has decided to address that problem by remodeling and equipping the once-abandoned Fire Service station, with new Trucks and modern firefighting equipment.

In keeping with his administration’s mantra of “Rivers People First,” Governor Fubara said the happiness of the people will continue to be his number one priority.

On hand to inaugurate the new Fire Service station was a former Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG) and former Minister of Transport, Dr. Abiye Sekibo.

Dr. Sekibo used the occasion to speak on a number of issues, starting with the recent judgments of the Supreme Court that annulled the October 5, 2024 Local Government Council election and also stopped the Central Bank from releasing the statutory allocation from the Federation Account due to Rivers State.

He wants Rivers’ people to rally behind their Governor, who according to him, is doing well for them.

The former Minister also called on President Bola Tinubu to stand by Governor Fubara who in his words has demonstrated a lot of support and commitment to the success of the present administration.

Dr. Abiye Sekibo also enjoins the Rivers State Governor to remain strong and continue with his good works for the people of Rivers State.
