The Rivers state government has launched the Siminalayi Fubara comprehensive free surgical and medical outreach programme at the Rivers state University teaching hospital primary healthcare centre, Adanta Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area.
The chief medical director, Rivers State University Teaching Hospital RSUTH Professor Chizindu Alikor, during the flagg off ceremony at Isiokpo, says the free surgery and medical care is targeted at the elderly, children, and pregnant women
The free comprehensive surgeries and medical care at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital RSUTH primary healthcare Centre, Adanta isiokpo in Iwerre LGA,is meant for children, pregnant women and the elderly from age Sixty five and above, aimed at providing essential health services to those in the remote communities across the state.

The people of Isiokpo commended the River State Governor Sim Fubara for bringing healthcare services to their doorsteps which they say is rare in the history of the state.
The chief medical director RSUTH, Prof Chizindu Alikor, announced that the elderly, children, and pregnant women from various communities in the state have also been registered for the free healthcare programme for one year, and will be subsequently renewed.
