Rivers United have crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup following a 2-0 defeat to USMA of Algeria.
The defending champions sealed their place in the last four on Sunday on 2-1 aggregate.
Malian striker, Abdullah Kanou opened the scoring for the Algerian team eight minutes before halftime.
Rivers United came close to equalizing in the 72nd minute but Andy Ogbai’s header hit the crossbar.
Kanou struck again in the 74th minute, to secure his team a place in the semi-finals.
USM Alger will now face Moroccan club, Berkane in the semi-finals later this month.
