Members of the Rim and Bachi communities in Ryom Local Government Area have called for a thorough investigation into the death of two of their youths by the Plateau State Government.

Reacting to the killing of the two young men, by unidentified gunmen, the Community Members who stormed the Divisional Police office in the Council, insisted that Justice must be done.

The villagers who identified the victims as Jerry Bitrus and Joseph Davou, said that they were riding on a motorcycle behind a Hilux van belonging to the men of the STF on patrol, when they met their untimely death.

The Village Head of Rim, Gyang Dahoro, told the media that the Military Task Force Officials, had confirmed hearing gunshots during the attack, but did not intervene.

The situation was not only worrisome to the locals, but also to the herdsmen residing in the community who called for a thorough investigation.

Efforts to speak to the spokesperson of the STF proved unsuccessful, while the corpses of the two slain men initially deposited at the Vom Christian Hospital, have been moved to the Jos University Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
