One of Nigeria’s indigenous oil producers, Oando PLC is reporting sabotage attacks targeting three of its pipelines in Bayelsa State.

The affected pipelines formerly belonged to the Italian oil giant, Eni that owned and operated the Nigerian Agip Oil Company which onshore assets have been bought over by Oando PLC.

The attacks which occurred in the last one week affected its 18-inch Tepidaba-Brass crude oil pipeline in Brass LGA and the 24-inch Ogboinbiri-Obiobi gas link in Southern Ijaw LGA.

The affected pipelines are among onshore and shallow-water assets in Nigeria which multinationals such as Eni diversified recently to concentrate on deep-water their operations.

AIT.live gathered that Oando has deployed leak repair teams to the affected sites, as it activates an emergency response to contain the incident and its effect on the environment.

A statement by Oando indicates that environment agencies and oil and gas regulatory authorities of the Nigerian Government will be working with its team to conduct a joint investigation visit to the site to determine the cause and extent of the sabotage.

It is expected that full-scale repairs on the sabotaged pipelines will commence after the investigation for Oando to resume its routine operations using them
