Nigeria’s Ministry of Steel Development is Poised to achieve protection of workers in the iron and steel industry from workplace hazards and reduce work-related injuries, diseases, and ill health, has organised a safety workshop through the Metallurgical Inspectorate & Raw Materials Development (MI&RMD) Department for Steel Producers, Fabricators, and Artisans in the Steel Sector.
Declaring the Workshop open in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Steel Development/Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Mary Ogbe, noted that the Workshop which is first in the series of engagements with Industry Operators following the creation of the Ministry of Steel Development is aimed at promoting safety awareness and compliance with safety guidelines in the steel sector
Experts at the event took turns to highlight the need for proper guielines to achieve safe working environment in Nigeria
The goal of the Workshop is to ensure that every type of operation and process in the metal industry is accident-free all times
