As part of the Sallah celebrations every year, Corps Members serving in Daura usually pay sallah homage to the President when he is in Daura, his home town, .

This time, he donated the sum of one million naira, 2 Big Bulls and 10 Rams to the Corps Members as their Sallah gift.

Addressing the Corps Members, president Muhammadu Buhari said, with the current security challenges bedeviling the nation, the NYSC is a very veritable tool to help curb the menace especially with different persons serving away from their comfort zones.

He added that, before NYSC, there were people from Lagos who had never gone out o Lagos island, and then they found themselves in Maiduguri, or Sokoto or Katsina, which is very good for Nigeria.

Buhari further urged the Corps Members to embrace technology and entrepreneurship aimed at making them self employed due to the lack of white collar jobs.

He tasked them to explore the rich and vast cultural heritage of the country and learn to tolerate one another.

The president also wished the Corps Members a successful service year.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has urged Nigerians to intensify efforts to go back to agriculture aimed at making food sufficient for its people and stop smuggling of rice and other items into the country.

He also advised Nigerians to be security conscious and always report to security agencies bad elements among them.
