The Nasarawa State government has taken over the prosecution of Timilehin Ajayi, the 32-year-old suspected killer of a 24-year-old Corps Member, Salome Adaidu.

The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Hauwa Samuel Jugbo, said in a statement that already a letter has been sent to the Commissioner of Police dated Friday March 07, 2025 to hand over the case as she will lead a dedicated team of Law Officers from the ministry of justice to prosecute the case.

The Attorney-General explained that
the decision was in accordance with the powers conferred on her by virtue of section 211(1) of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution, as amended, and therefore advised the Commissioner of Police to transmit all the relevant documents and proof of evidence pertaining to the case to her office to enable the Nasarawa state government to continue with the prosecution.
