Activities of quacks in the Science and Laboratory Technology Profession has been identified as a concern that needs to be addressed in order to prevent fake Laboratory results.
To address this concern, the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology is calling for concerted efforts in segregating the core professionals from quacks.
Apart from quackery, other challenges being faced by the Science Laboratory Technology are non-advancement of Science Laboratory Technology Professionals beyond CONTISS 13, non-availability of Master’s degree and Ph.D. in SLT among others.
The key stakeholders of the Nigerian Institute of Science and Laboratory Technology in Ede, Osun state are therefore seeking ways to tackle all the challenges facing the profession.

They are also calling on the federal government to increase the funding of the institute in order to be able to carry out its core mandate.
