Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has hailed the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his election as a resounding win for the people and a call to action for the state’s transformation.

Speaking after the ruling in Abuja, Governor Okpebholo hailed the judgment as a final seal on the will of Edo voters, expressed during the September 2024 governorship election,

In a statement marked by humility and gratitude, the governor declared the victory as a new era for Edo state and dedicated the victory to the people of the State, the All Progressives Congress, his family, and team. He also thanked God for strength through the legal journey and commended the judiciary for standing firm on justice.

He said “The people of Edo have won. We won at the polls, we won at the Tribunal, the Court of Appeal, and now at the Supreme Court. The long wait is finally over.”

Paying tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the governor described him as a “father, mentor, and visionary,” stressing that Edo must align with the national Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also expressed appreciation to the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, for his spiritual guidance and fatherly support, as well as to loyal APC supporters who stood by him through the legal battle.

Governor Okpebholo ended with a powerful call for unity, urging all Edo citizens to put aside political differences and join hands to build a stronger and more prosperous state for all.
