A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kano state, Aminu Abdulsalam, has described as mischievous, the news making the rounds, that the property of the former governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso was sealed, because he stole the state resources to build it.

Aminu Abdulsalam, an ally of the former governor, and a deputy governorship aspirant at the 2019 elections in the state said that the sealing of the said property, by the economic and financial crime commission, EFCC, has nothing to do with Kwankwaso’s leadership in the state.

The chieftain said that the sealing of the said property has to do with the purchase of the building that was initially owned by a former National Security Adviser, Ismaila Gwarzo, and acquired by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso in 2019, through a middle man, Baban Gandu, an aide to Ismaila Gwarzo.

The PDP chieftain added that the children of Gwarzo, are presently accusing their father’s lawyer of selling the properties of the former National Security Adviser, due to his health situation, as he is battling with dementia.

Abdulsalam added that Kwankwaso has already applied to the EFCC, to retract the said investigation, as the property was not purchased with state resources, and called on the people to ignore the rumours making the rounds.

The building on Miller Road, belonging to the former governor, was sealed on Thursday, by the anti-graft body, and marked, under investigation.

The agency is yet to issue an official statement to that effect.
