The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited Company has denied allegations of operating several secret accounts.
The Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, while appearing before the House of Representatives Committee, investigating the structure, accountability and production sharing contracts of the NNPC, from 1990 to date,” said the claims are false, and cannot be proven.
Kyari noted that the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, (OAGF), is fully aware of the accounts as he regularly sanctions and approves the updates/change of signatories to the accounts, insisting that there are documents to show.
Meanwhile, Chevron has confirmed to the committee, that the company did not have the required certificate from the Ministry of Trade and Investment.
The lawmakers turned back companies and agencies that represented their chief executives, insisting that ALL chief executives must be present in person, at the next hearing.
