As schools prepare to resume after being shut down due to the attack on St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, security agencies have assured parents, teachers, and students of adequate security in schools as they have relaunched Operation Zuma.
The assurance was given by Brigadier General Muhammed Jibo, Commander of the 31 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Minna, during a Christmas party organised for the children of officers and men in the frontline, who keep the nation secure.
It was a fun-filled evening when children of the officers and men of the 31 artillery brigade of the Nigerian Army in Minna, as well as children from the barracks community, were treated to a Christmas party by the Commander of the brigade, Brigadier General Muhammed Jibo.
To the parents and children, it was a party, but for Commander Jibo, it was a way of reassuring the officers and men who are on the frontline across the country fighting to secure the nation that, though they are far from home, their children are of priority.
Ahead of schools’ resumption in January 2026, the Commander assured the children of security even as he distributed learning materials to all the children.
Some parents and children thanked the Commander for organising the party, which they described as the first of its kind in the barracks.
The party featured dance competitions and distribution of learning materials such as lunch boxes, exercise books, stationery, bags, among other items.
