A combined team of Nigerian Army Operation Thunder Strike and the Nigeria Police Operation Puff Adder have foiled a terrorist attack at Sabon Sara along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway, killing a gunman and recovering nine operational motorcycles and AK 47 riffle in the process.
A statement by the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalinge said, the security forces were on patrol along the highway when they encountered the terrorists on their nefarious mission.
According to the statement, ‘the marauding terrorists were intercepted and an exchange of fire ensued as a result of which the friendly forces succeeded in truncating their mission forcing them to retreat into the forest as one gunman was killed.
The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State, Yekini Ayoku commented the team for the gallantry and commitment; and called on the general public to report any person or group nursing gunshot wound to the nearest security formation, as those who sustained injuries will seek medical care in any nearby hospital.
