Nasarawa State governor Abdullahi Sule has called for improved synergy among Nigeria’s security agencies operating in Nasarawa state in tackling the spill over effects from security issues in neighbouring Niger, Kogi, Kaduna and Plateau states.
The Governor said this in the state capital, Lafia at the opening of a two-day quarterly security meeting organised by the Department of State Services for the North Central zone.

Governor Sule acknowledged the efforts of the state security council , and other stakeholders for working to maintain peace in the state and said security requires lots of strategy, thinking and planning.
He traced the relative peace being enjoyed in the state to the existing among security agencies operating in the state.

The governor used the occassion to speak on possible effects from security challenges in neighbouring states and charged traditional rulers, vigilante groups,communities, as well as aggrieved persons to maintain the peace.

State director, Department of State Security Services, Abel Achi, said the meeting was convened to proffer solutions to security problems across the North Central zone.


The quarterly DSS meeting is the fourth in the series but the first to be held in Nasarawa State.
