The Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has commenced its routine distribution of food and non-food items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the various camps, to Cameroonian Refugees, Orphans and schools of children with exceptional needs.
Acting Executive Secretary State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) James Iorpuu who flagged off the distribution in Makurdi the state capital explained that the relief items were not part of the anticipated palliatives meant to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy.

Mama Abayol orphanage home in Makurdi, special schools for exceptional children in Vandeikya and Gwer East local councils also benefited from the food and non-food intervention.
Items distributed include Rice, Beans, Noodles, Garri, salt, Vegetable and palm oil, soap and mattresses.
