The Senate on Wednesday confirmed five nominees appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as Commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC).
The confirmation followed the consideration of the report by the Senate Committee on National Identity and National Population read by the chairman Senator Ya’u sahabi (Zamfara North).

The nominees confirmed as Commissioners of the National Population Commission include: Chief Benedict Ukpong Effiong (Akwa-Ibom), Mrs. Gloria Fateya Izonfo (Bayelsa), Kupchi Patricia Ori Iyanya (Benue), Dr. Haliru Bala (Kebbi) and Dr. Eyitayo Oyekunle Oyetunji (Oyo).
