The Senate has announced new dates for the North-West Zonal Public Hearing on the amendment of the 1999 Constitution.
The hearing is now scheduled to hold on July 18 and 19, 2025.
The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, announced during plenary, urging all senators and stakeholders from the North-West geopolitical zone to take advantage of the opportunity to make meaningful contributions on sections of the Constitution that require review for the benefit of all Nigerians.

The hearing, which was initially scheduled to hold in Kano State, was postponed as a mark of respect for the late business mogul and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
Public hearings in other zones including the North-Central, South-West, South-East, South-South, and North-East were held on the 4th and 5th of July, 2025.
