Senate Mourns Murder Of Chalya Silas, NYSC Member in Kaduna State By Hoodlums

The Nigerian senate has condemned in strong terms the gruesome murder of Chalya Grace Silas, a 24-year old NYSC Corp member on 18 October by unidentified hoodlums.

Grace Chalya was said to have been attacked and fatally stabbed by hoodlums while engaging in her regular morning jog.

In a motion sponsored by Senator Napoleon Bali representing Plateau South, he noted that the tragic incident cut short the life of a vibrant, enthusiastic.

and promising young lady from Langtang-North Local Government area of Plateau State who actively contributed to community development projects during her assignment in Kaduna state.

The Lawmaker stressed that her untimely demise underscores the security challenges faced by the nation and serves as a stack reminder of the urgent need for improved security measures and safeguard of the lives and aspirations of all citizens including vulnerable individuals like the NYSC members whose safety in recent times have been threatened by various security challenges.

Accordingly the senate resolves to Call on the Federal Government to work relentlessly towards safeguarding the lives of it citizens.

The Lawmaker thereafter observed a minute silence in honor of the deceased.
