The Senate has named the former deputy minority leader and senator representing Taraba south Emmanuel Bwacha as the new chairman senate committee on public procurement following his defection from the opposition PDP to the ruling APC.
The president of the Senate Ahmad Lawan made the revelation during plenary on Wednesday.

He added that senator Shuaibu Lau , the new senate deputy minority leader , who was the chairman of the committee on public procurement will now take over as the vice chairman Senate committee on works.
Senator Bwacha had on Tuesday during plenary said he left the PDP because of the huge division and factionalisation of his party in his home state.
