The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin at plenary on Thursday read a letter from President Bola Tinubu requesting the Nigerian Upper Chamber to consider and pass the 2024 Supplementary Budget for the Federal Capital Territory.
Tinubu said the fiscal proposal became necessary following a review of the 2024 Statutory Appropriation of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
He added that the Minister of FCT had indicated that some critical projects were inadvertently omitted in the 2024 Appropriation.
He further stated that the capital projects in the supplementary budget are a vital component of the performance of the FCT, and shall significantly impact manpower and infrastructural development within the FCT.
President Tinubu therefore urges lawmakers to expeditiously consider and pass the bill.
