The Nigerian Senate has made a minor reshuffle to its standing committees, stripping Senator Ali Ndume of his vice chairmanship position on the Appropriation Committee.
Ndume has been reassigned as the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism.
Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has been named the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters, replacing the former chair , Senator Mohammed Mongono.
Mongono is appointed as the new chief whip of the Senate and will also serve as the vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation.

The upper chamber also named senator Ned Nwoko as chairman of the proposed Committee on Reparation and Repatriation.
President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio says in line with the spirit of Forgiveness and togetherness, senator Ningi retains his earlier position as chairman Senate committee on Population Commission while Senator Simon Lalong has been named chairman of the Senate Committee on Agricultural Institutions.
Senator Musa Mustapha has been appointed as the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Livestock Development, a new ministry created by the federal government.
The reshuffle is seen as a move to reposition the Senate committees for effective performance.
