The Nigerian Senate Wednesday stepped down a motion seeking to Investigate the turnaround Maintenance Projects of Nigerian Refineries put at over N11 Trillion from 2010 till date.
According to the sponsor of the motion Senator Karimi Sunday (APC, Kogi West) the total figure excludes other cost in different currencies which include $592,976,050.00, 4,877,068.47 Euros and 3,455,656.93 Pounds, on renovation of refineries, yet unproductive.
After presenting the motion, The Senate leader Opeyemi Bamidele appealed to his colleagues to step down the motion, till all standing committees of the Senate are constituted.

Reacting to the leader’s submission, president of the Senate Godswill Akpabio agreed that the motion based on it’s importance should be stepped down till President Tinubu appoints ministers that will speak and investigate the issues.
The motion was however stepped down by the Lawmakers.
