Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator lyiola Omisore, has picked a membership card of the All Progressives Congress, APC, after his official defection from the Social Democratic Party, SDP, to the ruling party
Senator Omisore contested under the ticket of the SDP in the last Osun governorship election in 2018 which was won by Governor Oyetola of the APC.
He was deputy governor in Osun State from 1999 to 2003 and subsequently served as a member of the Nigerian Senate representing Osun East Constituency from 2003 to 2009, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Omisore was received into the party by the State Deputy Governor, Mr Benedict Alabi, APC State Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun, members of the state executive council and other party’s stalwarts
To substantiate his defection to the APC, Senator Omisore was in his polling unit at ward 6 Moore, lfe East to register his membership of the APC in line with the ongoing the APC membership registration and revalidation exercise.

He and his numerous supporters were welcomed to the venue by loyalists and supporters amidst cheers and jubilations.
Party members at the event described the move as momentous for the party, saying Senator Omisore has the political wherewithal and experience to attract good fortunes to the progressives fold in the state.
