Public and private senior secondary schools in Nigeria have a nine month-window, to ensure full implementation of the newly approved minimum standards for senior secondary education.
The time frame was made public by the Executive Secretary of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission, Iyela Ajayi, at the unveiling of the Developed Minimum Standards for Senior Secondary Education in Nigeria.
The event included the flag-off of President Bola Tinubu’s approved online google-sponsoored artificial intelligence in pedagogy training of 6,000 teachers drawn from senior secondary schools nationwide

Meanwhile, the federal government has met with states universal basic education boards, urging them to accord priority to policies aimed at reducing out of school children
Nigeria has one of the largest number of out of school children in the world, a development that has attracted increased budgetary allocation to the country’s education sector.
