A seventy-two-year-old man, Sabo Mohammed, has boldly told a Minna Chief Magistrates Court that he stabbed a Police Inspector, Nasiru Musa, to death because he was Seducing his wife.

The Septuagenarian who was arraigned before the Minna Chief Magistrate Court Five, presided over by Hadiza Imam, told the court that he had been suspecting his wife of having an affair with the deceased Police Prosecutor, attached to a Chief Magistrate court in Mashegu, and he stabbed him severally to death.

This is as men of the Homicide Squad of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, (SCIID), of the Niger state police command, arraigned the Septuagenarian
on a one count charge of culpable homicide, punishable under section 221 of the penal code.

He, however, told the Chief Magistrate that he regretted his actions when the charges were read to him, particularly in this month of Ramadan.

Justice Imam directed the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Ogiri, to transmit the case file to the Ministry of Justice for legal advice, saying her court could only hold pre-trial proceedings into the case, as she could not take his plea of guilty into his case.

She then adjourned to April 15th, and ordered his remand in Correctional Custody, for further mention.
