House of Representatives former Member, Sergius Ogun has been officially declared the candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC for the upcoming Edo Central Senatorial District by-election.
The announcement followed a primary election held under the supervision of the Party’s state leadership.
The State Chairman of the ADC who also served as the Returning Officer for the exercise, affirmed Ogun’s victory and signed the primary election result sheet, confirming his emergence as the Party’s Standard bearer.
The event, which took place in Edo State, was witnessed by party officials, delegates, and supporters who expressed confidence in Ogun’s ability to represent the district effectively.
In his acceptance speech, Barrister Sergius Ogun thanked the party leadership, delegates, and supporters for their trust in him.
He pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on development, good governance, and uphold the welfare of the people of Edo Central.
The Edo Central Senatorial by-election has drawn significant attention, with political analysts keenly watching the ADC’s prospects in the race.
Ogun, a legal practitioner and former Member of the House of Representatives, is expected to bring his experience in advocacy and governance to the forefront of his campaign.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has announced August 16th 2025 for the by-election, but political activities are expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
