Nigerians have been enjoined to avoid divisive tendencies along the ethnic lines, but to live together in peace, and tolerate one another.
This call was made by a famous Islamic leader Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, after his inspection of the ongoing construction of a Rural Grazing Area, RUGA settlement for the herders, at the Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, as parts of efforts to end insecurity.
The Rural Grazing Area is one of the initiatives of Governor Bello Mohammed’s administration, aimed at ending the decades of herders- farmers conflict in Zamfara State.
Visitors who took time out to visit the RUGA Project, like Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, had applauded the Zamfara government for the idea, and believed that it is the panacea to the myriad of security challenges, facing the country.

Gumi wants the Federal Government, to also key into the initiative, to ensure that peace prevails.
The Islamic Cleric, blamed the insecurity on the marginalization of the Fulanis, whom he said, lacked basic amenities.
Another visitor Professor Yusuf Usman, who accompanied Sheikh Gumi on the inspection, thinks that if the Rural Grazing Area, RUGA is replicated in all parts of the North, it will stop the killings, banditry, kidnapping and other security challenges in the region, and Nigeria as a whole.
Sheikh Ahmed Gumi was in Zamfara State, to also preach the Gospel of Peace, to the bandits in the bush, to help them appreciate why they should give peace a chance.
