Vice President Kashim Shettima has inaugurated the 33.5-kilometre Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Road in Rivers State.
The dual carriageway, which cuts across three local government areas, is expected to improve transportation, boost commerce and provide better access to communities along the route.
The Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Road links communities across Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas.
The 33.5-kilometre dual carriageway is expected to reduce travel time, improve road safety and provide easier access to commercial centres.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara says improving road infrastructure remains central to his administration’s efforts to connect communities and stimulate economic activity.
He describes the completion of the project as evidence of the government’s commitment to infrastructure development.
Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated the road and commended the Rivers State Government for what he described as the prudent use of public resources.
Shettima says the project aligns with the Federal Government’s infrastructure objectives and could help unlock economic opportunities along the corridor.
He also expects improved connectivity to support security within the communities.
For residents and businesses along the Elele-Egbeda-Omoku corridor, the impact will ultimately be measured by how much the new road improves movement, access and economic activity.
