Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will on Tuesday Represent President Muhammadu Buhari at the 60th Independence Day celebration of Sierra Leone taking place today in the country’s capital, Freetown.
According to a statement issued by the Vice President’s media aide Laolu Akande, Osinbajo will be joined by several other heads of State and Governments from Africa and beyond who are expected at the event.
Nigeria and Sierra Leone have long standing ties and share cordial relations dating back to the colonial era of both countries.

The Vice President who is being accompanied by the Foreign Affairs Minister of State, Ambassador Zubairu Dada and other top government functionaries is expected back in Abuja later today.
