The seeming crisis within the Government of Ondo State on Friday took another dimension as one of the Commissioners, Rasaq Obe alleged forgery of the signature of ailing Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu on official document.

Obe who is the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources in memo to the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa titled “Forgery of Mr. Governor’s Signature on Official document” said the irregularities in the signature were first observed when a file from his Ministry was returned through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG.

He said Upon closer inspection, he noticed significant differences between the suspicious signature and handwriting from the Governor’s known signatures and handwriting in the file.

The Commissioner said concerned about the gravity of the situation, he decided to seek a forensic review which has now confirmed that the suspicious signature and handwriting were indeed forged.

Obe noted that despite the inherent risks involved, he has chosen to report the alarming development and he believes that Governor Akeredolu would have taken action on the situation if he was around.

He urged the State Deputy Governor to treat the matter with the urgency it deserves and take appropriate actions to address the situation.
