A joint security team in Kebbi State has rescued six abducted persons and intercepted herds of cattle, rustled by bandits.
The victims and the stolen livestock were from the Kokanawa and Ukuhu communities in the Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of the state
The Director of Security, Cabinet Office, Abdulrahman Zagga, disclosed this to journalists in Birnin Kebbi where he said the operation was carried out on the directive of Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, following reports of the incident.
According to Zagga, the security team tracked the bandits to the Zamfara River area, where they rescued the victims, and recovered the rustled cattle.
The bandits fled during the operation.
The rescued persons have been reunited with their families.
