SOKOTO

As part of ongoing efforts to cushion the economic hardship facing workers, the Sokoto State government has approved the conversion of May 2025 salaries, into a loan to be paid in three installments.

According to a statement by the Press Secretary to Sokoto State Governor, Abubakar Bawa, the decision followed the financial pressures associated with the last Sallah festive season, during which the salary was paid.

He said the measure was intended to support them by easing immediate financial strain, allowing for repayment in three convenient monthly deductions.

He expressed confidence that the move would go a long way in improving the lives of civil servants and their families.

In a related development, Gov. Aliyu directed the immediate payment of June salaries to all categories of workers, including those at the state, local government, LGEA and pensioners .

Reassuring workers of his administration’s commitment to overhauling the civil service for better service delivery, the Governor urged the civil servants to reciprocate government’s gestures by showing greater dedication, discipline, and punctuality at work.
