Governors and other political leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Nigeria’s South-East geo-political zone have dissociated themselves from a bipartisan meeting to discuss the issues affecting the region.
A statement jointly signed by the APC state chairmen from Ebonyi, Anambra, Imo and Enugu says they are oblivious of the agenda of the meeting and the identity of those who called for it.
The statement further says the Governors and leaders of the APC did not authorise the use of their names in any newspaper publication for the event scheduled for Tuesday, January 5.
The APC leaders in South East have therefore advised their members not to be part of the meeting.

They also restated their will to engage with the centre for the interest of the region. “What is uppermost at the moment is the resolve by the APC Governors to continue in their efforts towards repositioning the party in the South-East and at the centre.
“The leaders want a move away from extreme opposition politics and work with the central government for the interest of the people and not for personal appointments or personal agenda”
