South -East geo-political zoned senators Elect have faulted the ruling All Progressives Congress zoning of the 10th president of the Senate to the South-South geo-political zone.

According to the spokesperson of the group, Ifeanyi Uba, the President elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu should extend the same Democratic process that threw him up as the APC Presidential candidate to prevail.

Ifranyi Uba who is returning to the 10th Senate on the platform of Young Progressive Party stated that the president Elect should be conscious of the grave implications of zoning and endorsing a candidate from the South-South without any regard for the Southeast.

The group noted that such a move will no doubt serve as a recipe for Injustice which will culminate to restiveness.

They further added that the country is already divided along ethnic and religious lines due to the exclusion of the Southeast region.

They implored the incoming Administration of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to correct the anomaly by ensuring that the Southeast is given the opportunity to produce the next Senate President.

According to them, the South- East has been denied the chance of producing the president of Nigeria since 1966 while The South-South has produced Nigeria’s President for six years and also had a Deputy Senate President in the outgoing administration.
