Bayelsa State Government has taken delivery of mechanized farming equipment worth over $500,000 from the government of the Republic of South Korea to boost its agriculture potentials as part of the partnership between both governments.
The equipment were handed over to the state governor, Douye Diri by the South Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Kim Pankyu at the School-to-Land Farm complex in Yenagoa.
The items include four tractors, two rice transplanting machines, one rice seeding machine, 10,000 rice seed beds, and four 10-tonne per day rice mills.

Governor Diri noted that the gesture will boost the state’s effort to enhance food security and stimulate economic growth.
He urged investors to take advantage of the natural resources and the peaceful environment to invest in the state.
Highlight of the ceremony is a rice planting demonstration.
