Southern Kaduna People’s Union says, the Nigerian Government has failed to tackle the long-standing insecurity in the area, and will start taking steps to attract the attention of the international community by staging continuous protests at their embassies in Abuja.

Speaking to Journalists in Abuja, the president of the union, Jonathan Asake, explained that the Buhari-led government and the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, are not responding to calls made by the people of Southern Kaduna and some Nigerians, after several attacks on villages, which have claimed over 500 lives, and destroyed than 400 houses, including churches.

Asake wants the military authorities to holistically investigate claims of attacks on the villagers, over the involvement of personnel that has compromised their neutrality, to preserve the reputation and confidence Nigerians have in them.

The union warns that should the government continue to be silent on the matter, the people may be forced to secure their lives and property against the attackers.

The group pointed out that in the previous and the current rainy seasons, no fewer than 100 persons have been massacred, while 12 villages are now completely decimated, and over 9 percent of Atyap community lands deserted by the inhabitants, over fears of uncertainties.
