Southern Senators Condemn Borno Bombing, Mourn with Victims’ Families

The Southern Senators Forum has totally condemned the devastating suicide bombing attack in Tashan Mararaba, Gwoza town, Borno State on Saturday, June 29, 2024, which claimed at least 18 lives and injured many others.

In a statement, by the Chairman of the forum Senator Adetokunbo Abiru says these heinous acts of terrorism are a stark reminder of the persistent security challenges facing the nation.

He added that the despicable act highlights the urgent need for a collective, collaborative, and robust response to terrorism in the country.

The forum urges the federal government and all security agencies to intensify their efforts in combating terrorism, ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians, and bringing those responsible to swift justice.

The senators extend their deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.

“We remain committed to working with all stakeholders to achieve lasting peace and security across Nigeria”

According to him Southern Senators Forum stand in solidarity with the Northern Senators Forum, the government and people of Borno State.

The forum reiterates its resolve to support measures by the Senate to provide greater support, better equipment, and enhanced welfare for the gallant security personnel to boost their morale and effectiveness in the fight against terrorism
