The Spanish Women’s National Team, the La Roja are champions of the world for the first time in their history.
This follows their 1-nil defeat of two-time finalists and European champions England in the final of the 9th FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

England had earlier knocked out Nigeria’s Super Falcons in Round of 16 of the tournament.
