The Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, (OPSH), deployed in the state, Bauchi and Southern Kaduna, to restore law and order, has paraded 27 suspected cultists, including their 6 female associates, on Saturday, in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

This is following the recent upsurge in cult related crimes on the Plateau.

The arrests were made during a series of raid operations carried out on criminal and cultists hideouts  in the Jos Metropolis, from 17-20 November, 2020, by the Men of the Special Task Force.

General Chukwuemeka, who said a number of drug barons were also arrested, but handed over to the NDLEA for further action, assured the state of continued efforts to get rid of kidnappers, cultists and other enemies of the state.

In his words, “OPSH wants to reassure all Law abiding citizens on the Plateau, on our total commitment to have a crime free environment during the NAFEST, starting on 23-28 November, and the Yuletide season. We Shall remain resolute on our mandate of restoration and maintenance of peace on the Plateau”.

He called on citizens  to continue to provide useful information on criminals, to enable the command carry out its duties effectively.
