The Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesighe has reportedly agreed to resign to make way for an all-party government.

The country has run out of foreign currency and is struggling to import basics like fuel, food and medicine.

Long queues stretching for kilometers are seen across the country.

The blame has been put at the doorstep of the Rajapaksa family, which has been in power for years, for mismanaging the economy and borrowing heavily from overseas.
