Stakeholders in the cotton industry have called on the rural cotton farmers in the state to pay up the credit facility from the Anchor Borrowers Scheme initiated by the Central Bank Of Nigeria for cotton farmers.
They made the call during the annual harvest of cotton by farmers in the North East as these farmers begin the return of the product to the Central Bank of Nigeria that markets the produce for processing plants in the country.
They said with the support from the government, cotton farmers can initiate a cotton revolution with the harvest of one hundred and thirty-six thousand tonnes of cotton in the year.
Despite the challenges faced in the outgone farming season, farmers say the country has entered its cotton revolution.
