State Governors in Nigeria have resolved to receive the Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccine publicly on Wednesday March 10 in their various states.
The decision was reached at a virtual emergency meeting on Thursday.
This is however, without prejudice to the decision of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) which says that states who have not met the criteria for vaccine safety won’t get a share of the doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines.

The commitment of the Governors to go for the vaccine is coming after the decision of President Buhari and Vice-president Osinbajo to take doses of the vaccine on Saturday March 6.
Three million, nine hundred and twenty-four thousand (3,924,000) of the Sixteen million (16,000,000) AstraZeneca vaccines doses allocated to Nigeria from the COVAX facility arrangement arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday.
