Schools in Ebonyi State, southeast Nigeria, have reopened for in-person learning activities in continuation of the first term of the 2020 /2021 academic session.
Ait.live monitored the resumption exercise in some schools in Abakiliki,the Ebonyi State capital, as teachers and students maintained Covid -19 protocols following the continuous spread of the new wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

Schools like Presco and Urban High schools within the state capital,had students in their numbers observing some of the key actions for Covid 19 Prevention and Control protocols as stipulated by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC.

Those who spoke to ait.live expressed excitements on their return to classes.
Many believe that amidst the second wave of Covid 19 spread, the health safety of the students and pupils will depend greatly on the teachers and authorities to ensure that the educational environments are healthy and safe for the children.

It will be recalled that the Ebonyi State Government delayed the reopening date of schools by 2 weeks from January 4 to Jan. 18, 2021.
