Nigerians have been urged to rededicate themselves towards worshipping God, as a solution to address the current challenges bedevilling the country.

The call was made by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar II, during the opening ceremony of the National Qur’anic recitation competition, held in Bauchi State, northeast Nigeria.

The 36th National Qur’anic Recitation Competition was declared open in Bauchi, with many contestants from across the country in attendance

It was organized by the National Qur’anic Recitation Competition Centre, of the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, and hosted by the Bauchi State Government.

The President-general, National Supreme Council Of Islamic Affairs, Sultan of Sokoto, represented by the Shehu of Borno and other renowned Islamic scholars, used the occasion to call on Nigerians, to return to God, and seek his Divine intervention, to overcome the ugly happenings, that bring setbacks to the socio-economic growth and development of the nation.
