Lawyer representing the Department of States Services (DSS), Idowu Awo has told the Federal High Court in Abuja that one chance armed robbers have stolen documents containing a counter-affidavit filed challenging the fundamental human rights suit instituted by twelve supporters of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho.

This was made known on Wednesday when the matter came up for hearing.

Igboho’s aides had filed the suit against the DSS over the raid on their leader’s residence in Ibadan on July 1, leading to the arrest of 12 persons, they urged the court for an adjournment in view of what transpired.

The vacation judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, who presided over the matter agreed to his plea but ordered that the case file be returned to the chief judge for reassignment having noted that the Court would return from vacation on September 20.

The 12 persons were arrested following a midnight raid on Igboho’s residence on the 2nd of July in which two persons were killed by officers of the Nigerian secret police.

They were then brought to Abuja where they were kept in an underground cell until they were produced in court.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Abuja Federal High Court, signed their release order,19 days after they were granted bail on August 4, 2021.

Justice Egwuatu also signed the Release Order of the four contested detainees, ignoring the same persistent argument of the Department of State Service, DSS, lawyer Idowu Awo who alleged there is a high level of complicity on their part.
