The Super Eagles camp in Lagos, for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualification opener against Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, is bubbling with about 90% of the thirty players invited already on the ground.

The players are captain, Ahmed Musa, Tyronne Ebuehi, Leone Balogun, Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong, Maduka Okoye, Terem Moffi, Jamilu Collins, and Valentine Ozornwafor, While Chidozie Awaziem, Zaidu Sanusi, Paul Onuachu, and Joe Aribo, were still expected as at 7 o clock on Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile the media officer of the team, Babafemi Raji has debunked claims that the super eagles were ejected or denied access to the gym at the team’s camp.

This follows a viral video online, showing the assistant coach and former international Joseph Yobo, arguing with an official of the hotel.

Raji confirmed the alteration between Yobo and the hotel official but affirmed that the super eagles were not ejected or denied access to use the facility.

In his words, what happened was a minor misunderstanding between an assistant manager of the hotel who was on an inspection walk and some members of his staff.

Raji claimed that the assistant manager yelled at his staff so much, that it distracted the gym session of the super eagles, prompting the intervention of some of the backroom staff of the super eagles.

Nigeria will face Liberia on Friday, September 3 at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos, before facing Cape Verde away, on Tuesday, Sept 7.
