The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Bala Mohammed as governor of the Bauchi State.
A five member panel of the court dismissed the appeal filed by Sadique Abubakar, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While noting that the appeal was unmeritorious, the Apex court affirmed the findings of the court of appeal which affirmed the election of the PDP candidate and dismissed the appeal.

The appellant’s argument is that the tribunal failed to make pronouncement on the invalid electoral documents tendered as evidence before it.
Although INEC told the apex court that the tribunal only found blank spaces in some of the electoral forms and not on all the forms, as there was no evidence of forms that were improperly filled at the tribunal.
